Bento boxes, booty shakes, Arctic cabins, and feminist fire
February tends to arrive with mixed signals—short days stretching longer, winter still holding the door, and everyone collectively negotiating their energy levels. It’s a good month to notice what actually lifts the mood, sparks curiosity, or reminds us the internet can still be a place of delight, not just noise.
This series is our monthly act of paying attention on purpose. These are the creators we’re spending time with right now: people who soothe, energize, inform, or simply make us smile in the middle of an otherwise chaotic scroll. Some offer beauty. Some offer joy. Some offer perspective we don’t want to miss.
Here’s who’s currently living rent-free in our heads.
I am admittedly the kind of person who will eat a can of tuna over the sink for lunch in between back-to-back meetings, but I find it deeply soothing to watch people online carefully craft aesthetically beautiful, delicious looking bento boxes. Throw in an occasional cartoon-faced rice ball and I’m hooked.
Sometimes I just want to wiggle! Nothing makes my day better than when I’m scrolling through TikTok and the world is going to hell, only to find that oscarwylde is live. His sets are fun, energetic and make me want to dance. It gives me happy vibes and booty shakes, what more could you want?
This feisty lass has nearly convinced me to return to my genetic home base in Lapland. Add a big good-natured fluffy dog and a boyfriend that is pretty much a human version of that dog. Throw in a boat, a remote cabin and snowmobiles to boot. Come for the stunning scenery, stay for the salmon-forward food porn.
My feminist ire has been burning like a super-nova for a while now and while I wish I could say that I find solace in Girl News, a content aggregator focusing on news about women and girls, the news just isn’t always good, but I genuinely appreciate the spotlight on women since most of the media wildly under represents women. “In a world owned by boys, stay updated on girls.”
Why we’re paying attention
This series isn’t about trends or follower counts—it’s about attention. Who we choose to watch, learn from, laugh with, and quietly root for shapes the texture of our days more than we realize.
We’ll be back next month with another round of creators currently earning space in our feeds and our thoughts. Until then, consider this your invitation to follow someone new, support their work if you’re able, and let a little more delight, or clarity, take up residence in your scroll.
Missed January’s creators or have a creator you think we should be paying attention to? Tell us. We’re always listening.
